Pacquiao- Misunderstanding with Media Partners
Manny Pacquiao, an elite fighter, and one of the top ranking boxers in the world today face a different kind of controversy. He is placed in the middle of the rivalry between two of the Philippines largest television networks.
Recently ABS-CBN sports news released a video announcing Pacquiao’s change of media partner. This announcement has raised some eyebrows from GMA networks officials.
Although Pacquiao have a contract in Solar Sports, he allegedly signed a contract with ABS-CBN without any regards. His Contract with Solar Sports will not due until 2011. In short he has breached the contract with his present media partner.
In fairness to Pacquiao, he said on an interview that the video will not be shown until it is proved that there has been a breach of contract from the side of Solar Sports. “The video or footage should not be shown yet†Pacquiao said.
Adding to the conflict is the claims of Pacquiao that he is not the one who wrote the statement on his planned transfer. He said that a lawyer of ABS-CBN prepared it. Contrasting on what he has said on the video shown.
It is very clear that he said in the video that it is his own decision to change media partner.
Well, nothing will change he’s still one of the greatest boxers today.
If there is something Pacquiao should focus right now it’s his training. He’s fight with Hatton is much more important than any other conflict.
ABS-CBN has no intention of going after Pacquiao for signing a contract to them. The officials of ABS-CBN said that they only wish that Pacquiao will maintain focus on his training and win against Hatton on May 2.
