Cleveland Cavaliers NBA celebrity, Lebron James finally has some NBA all-star backup! The Cavaliers completed a blockbuster trade with the Phoenix Suns last Thursday, and guess who’s joining the team? The four-time NBA champion, formerly Kobe’s partner, Shaquille O’Neal! This is clearly going to be an amazing basketball duo. How does Lebron feel about the latest addition? “Shaq is an incredible ballplayer and a four-time NBA champion,” LeBron James told The Associated Press. “I have a lot of respect for him and his game. It will be a real honor to play with Shaq as my teammates and I look forward to another great season with the Cavs.”

Shaq is fresh from a great season with the Suns averaging 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds in 75 games, a record that Cavaliers badly needed on their side last season. Why the sudden urgency? Probably because it’s Lebrons final season before he can opt out of his contract, Cavs badly want to win a title this season while they have the NBA celebrity on their side. Shaq seems to be the missing link and the perfect partner to help James win the title. According to a source, Cavs are sending Ben Wallace, the former Pistons center and swingman Sasha Pavlovic to the Suns.

We definitely should expect yet more NBA celebrity all star games in the season ahead. Adding to the excitement is the new rivalry that has arisen between Shaq and Dwight Howard, the Orlando magic center player. Howard has titled himself ‘Superman’ a trademark that Shaq has claimed and even has a tattoo ‘S’ on his arm. It’s bound to be Superman vs Superman-a very interesting match-up. How about the Shaq vs Kobe rivalry? This time they get to be on different but both highly competitive teams. What would happen if they make it to the finals?

The 2010 season is sure to be more emotionally thrilling than the last. Will Shaq prove to be Cavs savior and help give them the cup? Or will Lakers have another win with their NBA celebrity all-star, Kobe on their side? We’ll just have to wait and see.
