Lakers -NBA champions
Do you believe in Kobe? After all his mishaps during game 4, you might have thought twice before answering but after Lakers 99/86 victory over Orlando on Sunday, everyone is proud of our NBA celebrity! The game definitely was Kobe’s, he scored 30 points, made six rebounds, and five assists and most significantly to most-won his first championship without Shaquille O’Neal. This would be a very important addition to the NBA all-star’s profile considering the famous Shaq-Bryant feud just last year. Everyone remembers the issue that was raised when then part-time rapper Shaquille freestyle rapped: “You know how I be. Last week Kobe couldn’t do without me,” at a New York nightclub sometime last June 2008 after Lakers lost other finals since O’Neal’s being traded. Bryant has proved that statement wrong gaining his fourth championship ring, one behind Magic Johnson and two behind Michael Jordan- a great achievement indeed!
NBA finals-Magic’s Victory
“I’m used to coming through in those situations, …….the team trusts me to come through in those situations, and it just didn’t happen tonight,†said the frustrated Kobe Bryant after Lakers first defeat marking
Magic’s first victory in the NBA all star finals. Most disappointing to all was when he lost his last chance to give the Lakers a 3-0 advantage in the finals, with half a minute left, he lost the ball to Mickael Pietrus and ended up fouling him leading to Magic gaining two free throws and winning the game by 4 points-108/104!
NBA Finals-Game 1 & 2
“There is no defeat except for those who give upâ€. This definitely should be what the Orlando Magic puts in their minds after their double defeat in the NBA finals. Many of us were excited to see how the NBA all stars-Dwight vs. Kobe, Lewis vs. Odom and Turkoglu vs. Gasol match-up and many Magic and even Cavalier fans were hoping for Magic to beat the Los Angeles Lakers but to everyone’s disappointment they lost by 25 points in the first game, 100/75 and 101-96 in the second game. Obviously, with the Lakers long championship history of nine wins, their capability shouldn’t be underestimated but all expected more from Magic! After all, they were the team who beat the Cavaliers and erased everyone’s dream of Kobe meeting Lebron in the final! What exactly happened in this most awaited Celebrity game? Does Magic still have a chance or is the trophy as good as Lakers? Let’s have a quick review.
